VIRTUAL LGBTQ COUPLES THERAPY
Affirming care, with someone you trust. I offer virtual therapy for couples in Cambridge, Lexington, & across Massachusetts.
You shouldn't have to educate your therapist.
Too many LGBTQIA+ couples walk into therapy and spend the first several sessions explaining their relationship instead of working on it, correcting assumptions, clarifying terminology, or bracing for a reaction that never quite lands right. That's exhausting, and it gets in the way of the actual work.
Whatever you're facing, communication struggles, distance, trust, big decisions about your future together, you deserve a therapist who already understands the context you're bringing into the room, so you can spend your sessions on your relationship, not on background.
You’re tired of feeling caught in this cycle:
Vetting therapists just to find one who's actually affirming, not just tolerant
Explaining your relationship structure or identity before getting to the real issue
Wondering if a therapist's advice was built with a relationship like yours in mind at all
how i can help
Couples therapy starts from a place of understanding.
My practice is LGBTQIA+ affirming, not as an add-on, but as a foundational part of how I work. That means we start from where you actually are, without me projecting assumptions about gender roles, monogamy, or what your relationship "should" look like onto your relationship.
Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and psychodynamic insight, I help you and your partner understand the patterns driving conflict or distance in your relationship, the same evidence-based approach I use with every couple, applied with real attention to your specific context, history, and community.
Whether you're navigating communication, intimacy, infidelity, or bigger questions about your future together, the work starts with you being fully seen, not partially understood.
imagine if you…
Didn't have to brief your therapist before every real conversation
Sessions that start with your relationship, not a crash course in who you are.
Felt fully seen, not just accepted
Support that reflects your actual relationship, not a generic version of it.
Had a space built for you, not adapted for you
Therapy that was never designed with someone else in mind first.

Common questions about LGBTQ therapy
-
No, I work with couples across all identities and relationship structures. LGBTQIA+ affirming care is a core part of how I practice with everyone, not a separate track.
-
I approach every relationship on its own terms, without assuming a specific structure is the goal. If this applies to you, we can talk about your specific situation during your free consultation.
-
Often, yes. Virtual sessions can offer more privacy and access, especially for couples who live somewhere without many affirming providers nearby, or who simply prefer the added layer of discretion.
